In the heart of the mesmerizing rolling fields, resided a boy named Shepherd. His existence was essentially pure, simple, and honest. His primary duty was mainly to look after his flock of sheep.
Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the gales through the solo tree on the mountaintop were his main companions. Day upon day, watching over his charges instilled in him a notion of tranquil contentment.

The boy chuckled at the puzzle on their faces. This prank persisted for a few more days. Yet, one noon, a real wolf did come to prey the grazing sheep. The shepherd boy dashed for help, screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his flock. Heartbroken, he went back to the village only to receive a scolding check here on honesty and the repercussions of false alarms.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been handed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the perils of crying wolf. Moreover, it highlights how trust once violated, is hard to regain. It's a story as appropriate today as it was anciently.
